Councillor for Kineton, Stratford-on-Avon District Council. Most of his ward falls within Kenilworth and Southam constituency but the village of Butlers Marston comes under Stratford on Avon.
Chris was first elected as a Councillor in 2007 now serves on the East Area Planning Committee, the Regulatory Committee and as Chairman for the Licensing Committee. Planning is an emotive subject as a planning application which is granted or refused can have a profound effect on people’s lives. Licensing includes pubs/restaurants, dog breeding and taxi licensing. Licensing is very emotive especially when issuing a new license to drive a taxi. To grant or deny a licence can also have a profound effect on people’s lives.
Village life sees Chris serve as a Committee member for Kineton Village Hall, Kineton Music Festival and member of the team for “Keep Kineton Beautiful” which involves general tidying up of the village.
He works very closely with our Parish Councils and maintains a good working relationship. Without doubt, our Parish Councils are vital to the welfare of our villages and he will continue to work for the residents in our area and be the spokesman at the Council for things that concern them. He feels that having an open door policy is crucial and he welcomes phone calls or home visits at any time day or night for residents who feel they need help or advice.
He is delighted to inform you that superfast broadband is now available in parts of Compton Verney. Cabinet Kineton 11 has been upgraded, meaning that many properties connected to it can now order the improved service.
