Yesterday, Wednesday 27th April, Cllr. Tony Dixon, who will retire at the forthcoming AGM as the Association treasurer after six years will started his 146 mile sponsored walk from The Globe theatre on the south bank to the Birthplace in Henley Street, Stratford upon Avon.
Tony is raising funds for the Shakespeare Hospice which was his chosen charity during his year as the Chairman of the District Council. Fund raising during his year was badly impacted by the pandemic , but now with life returning to something closer to normal he is able to take on the challenge which he had hoped to do in 2020. He selected the Hospice as two wonderful ladies from the Hospice at Home Service had been the last two carers to assist his mother on her final evening prior to her passing in March 2018.
Tony’s target is to raise £10 for every mile of the walk. If you are able to support this excellent cause please do select the link below which will take you direct to the Hospice fund raising web site, additionally if you are able to add gift aid your contribution will be increase by 25% at no cost to yourself.
Tony thanks you and will be keeping our Facebook page up to date with his progress.
